Go To Aswan

Day 1

Meeting with GTK Trip Leader at Cairo Airport for check-in flight Cairo-Aswan.
Arrival to Aswan and transfer by air-conditioned bus to Elephantine Island where hotel Moevenpick Resort Aswan is located 24°05’34N 32°53’31E (30 minutes drive) & Check-in.
The afternoon is free to enjoy the resort recreational facilities.
Before sunset, start a ride on a traditional Felucca and enjoy the calmness and landscape of the River Nile.
Then will have a walk in the remarkable market of Aswan and shop for spices and handcrafts.
Return back to hotel. Dinner & overnight.

Day 2

Breakfast in hotel.
Transfer to Agilkia Island to visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to Goddess Isis 24°01’31N 32°53’00E. One of the temples that had been dismantled and relocated after its original site was partially flooded due to the construction of Aswan Dam. Proceed to visit the Un-finished Obelisk 24°04’36N 32°53’43E to learn about theories of how the Ancient Egyptians used to form and erect their unique obelisks.
Back to hotel for Lunch.
In the afternoon, transfer to Aswan Heart Center, part of MYF (Magdi Yacoub Foundation) which is definitely an exciting new development in cardiovascular surgery, treatment and research seeking to transfer knowledge, skills and experience across the region and beyond and help create a Biomedical knowledge base which can be exported to the world at large. A centre of excellence and international standing thus providing hope, improving life chances and serving the children, young people and adults in the whole region.
Back to hotel.
Dinner & overnight.

Day 3

Breakfast in hotel.
Ride on a motor boat through the Cataracts to reach the Nubian Village at Gharb Soheil 24°04’37N 32°52’20E, where we will visit one of the Nubian Houses and have a chance to learn about this forgotten part of Egypt. Students will be able to listen to the Nubian people talk about their lives, customs, and habits, how they build their houses, and what their dreams are for the future. They will also have the chance to share by giving presents to the Nubian children and listen to their beautiful songs. Proceed the day with a Camel ride on the dunes of Gharb Soheil before going back to the hotel, for lunch, by motor boat.
PM is free to enjoy the hotel recreational facilities. In the evening, will have a walk in the remarkable market of Aswan and shop for spices and handcrafts.
Back to hotel for dinner & overnight.
