Day 1
AM meeting at Cairo Airport with GO TO KNOW Tour Leader – Check-in for Flight Cairo/Aswan. Arrival to Aswan24°05’21N 32°53’58E and transfer by private air-conditioned bus to the High Dam 23°58’12N 32°52’35E to learn about its history, how and when it was built, its importance for Egypt along with its disadvantages, and the formation of Lake Nasser.
Transfer to Agilkia Island to visit and the Temple of Philae, dedicated to Goddess Isis 24°01’31N 32°53’00E, one of the temples that had been dismantled relocated after its original site was partially flooded due to the construction of Aswan Dam.
Transfer to the Nile Cruise, check-in & Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, will have a walk in the remarkable market of Aswan and shop for spices and handcrafts. Back on board for dinner. After dinner, a Nubian show will take place in the boat lounge where students will also learn Nubian dances. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 2
Breakfast on board.
In the morning, transfer by motor boat to the to the Nubian Village 24°05’13N 32°53’11E – where we will visit one of the Nubian Houses and have a chance to learn about this forgotten part of Egypt. Students will be able to listen to the Nubian people talk about their lives, customs, and habits, how they build their houses, and what their dreams are for the future.
Back on board and start the navigation to the north to the city of Kom Ombo 24°27’07N 32°55’42E and visit theTemple of the Two Gods “Sobek the Crocodile & Haroeris”.
Back on board and proceed to sail to the city of Edfu 24°58’38N 32°52’21E. Lunch on board. During sailing, students will learn about Mummification process and different theories of its secrets. In the evening, students will dress themselves in one of the many Egyptian styles of clothing and have an Egyptian dinner on board along with a big Galabya Party in the boat lounge.
Day 3
Breakfast on board.
Transfer by Hantour to visit the Temple of Horus. Then proceed to sail to Luxor via Esna Lock.
Arrive to Luxor 25°41’15N 32°38’21E. Lunch on board.
In the evening, guided tour to visit the illuminated Temple of Luxor. Back on Board the Nile cruise for farewell dinner.
Day 4
Breakfast on board.
Transfer to the West Bank of the River Nile. The tour starts by photo stop by the 2 Colossuses of Memnon, then proceed to visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, and finally visit the Great Valley of Kings to see the most gorgeous tombs in history. Back to the East Bank and proceed to visit the Temple of Karnak, and learn about the history of the great complex of temples, massive Columns, Pylons and Chapels, which was built throughout the many different eras of Egyptian history. Back on Board for lunch.
Check out & transfer to Luxor Airport for flight back to Cairo.
Drop off at Cairo airport – end of GTK services.
NB: The Cruise itinerary could be adjusted while cruising according to the water level or weather conditions. However, the adjustment would only be in timing while all the visits and activities remain unchanged.
