Day 1
Morning meeting at Cairo Airport with GTK Trip Leader– Check-in for Flight Cairo/Luxor –
Arrival to LXR airport 25°41’15N 32°38’21E. Transfer by air-conditioned bus to the Nile Cruise for check-in. After Lunch, guided tour to the Temple of Karnak, a great complex of Temples, massive Columns, Pylons and Chapels, which was built throughout the many different eras of Egyptian history. Then proceed to visit the Temple of Luxor, illuminated. Back on Board the Nile cruise.
Before dinner, a welcome reception & presentation of boat staff will take place in the boat lounge. Dinner on board. Entertainment of music & games.
Day 2
Breakfast on board. Transfer to the west bank of the River Nile to visit the Great Valley of Kings to see the most gorgeous tombs & visit the Temple of Hatshepsut and stop on the way back to take pictures of the 2 Colossuses of Memnon. Back on Board for lunch, start cruise the Nile to the South, games & activities will take place on Sun Deck, and enjoy hot chocolate at Sunset. In around 5 hours time, arrival at Esna Lock 25°19’03N 32°33’06E – and enjoy the experience of the water being adjusted to allow the boat to pass from lower to upper levels of the Nile. In the evening, a lecture about Egyptian history and the story of Nubia & Nubian People will take place in the boat lounge. After dinner, entertainment of music & games. Overnight by the city of Esna.
Day 3
Breakfast on board. Sailing to Edfu – Arrival to city of Edfu 24°58’38N 32°52’21E, and transfer by Hantour to visit the Temple of Horus. Afterwards, back to the boat for lunch. enjoy sailing until sunset till we reach the city of Kom Ombo 24°27’07N 32°55’42E and visit the Temple of the Two Gods “Sobek the Crocodile & Haroeris”. Back on board and enjoy a lesson of Nubian language and learn some of its words and sentences to use the day after in the Nubian Village. In the evening,
the students will dress themselves in one of the many Egyptian styles of clothing (Pharaoh, Se3idi, Flla7i) and have an Egyptian dinner on board along with a big Galabya Party in the boat lounge.
Day 4
Breakfast on board & free morning to enjoy the sailing to Aswan 24°05’21N 32°53’58E. upon arrival, transfer by bus to the High Dam 23°58’12N 32°52’35E to learn about its history, how and when it was built, its importance to Egypt along with its disadvantages, and the formation of Lake Nasser. Transfer to the Island of Philae 24°01’29N 32°53’02E. Visit of the Temple of Isis by motor boat, back to the boat & lunch on board. After lunch, a Felucca ride to the Nubian Village 24°05’13N 32°53’11E – where we will visit one of the Nubian Houses and have a chance to learn about this forgotten part of Egypt. Students will be able to listen to the Nubian people talk about their lives, customs, and habits, how they build their houses, and what their dreams are for the future. They will also have the chance to share by giving presents to the Nubian children and listen to their beautiful songs. Then back to Aswan city to have a short walk in Aswan market. Back on board for dinner. After dinner, a Nubian show will take place in the boat lounge where students will also learn Nubian dances.
Day 5
Breakfast on board. Transfer to Aswan Airport and fly back to Cairo. – drop off at Cairo airport – end of GTK services.
NB: The Cruise itinerary could be adjusted while cruising according to the water level or weather conditions. However, the adjustment would only be in timing while all the visits and activities remain unchanged. Visits, scheduled in Luxor and Aswan, could also be changed according to the flights timing.
