Tunes Village: Overnight – Pottery Making


Day 1

Morning pick-up and departure by air-conditioned bus to Tunis village googleearth_icon1 29°24’18N 30°29’00E in El Fayoum City, about 150 km.  Upon arrival, check-in the Eco Lodge of Zad El Mosafer (or similar). Walk to the Fayoum Pottery School, established by the Swiss Potters Evelyne Porret and Michel Pastore, where the students will spend the morning having the first session, under supervision of professional potters, about Pottery making, and they will also practice the first process to make pottery products.

 Traditional lunch is included in an Eco Lodge in the village. After Lunch, the students will walk through the narrow streets of the village to reach the Caricature Museum, and learn about the work of the Egyptian Artist Mohamed Abla.  They will also go through an Interactive Method Workshop (please check this video to have an idea:

The students will be back to the Eco Lodge for dinner and gathering round Campfire for a Marshmallow BBQ. Overnight.

Day 2

Breakfast in the Eco Lodge. The students will then have a calm ride on Arabian horses in the village. They will finish their ride at the Pottery School to have their 2nd session of Pottery making and color the work that they have designed the day before. After Lunch, check-out and transfer back to Cairo, drop-off at school Campus.
